Lot of 3 Art Deco Style Pins / Brooches and Dress Clip ~ Rhinestones ~ Estate:
$15.00
My mom (AKA TheQueen of Bling) recently passed away, leaving hundreds of pieces of jewelry toa daughter who rarely even wears earrings. After spending many hours (andmany dollars) having a gemologist look through my mom’s jewelry, we decided tospeed up the process and have her just divide the pieces into “costume” and morevaluable. So, for a lot of my mom’scostume jewelry, I don’t have specifics about materials/stones used. I’ve tried to give a good description of theitems, but please know I’m definitely not an expert on jewelry.
This sale is for a lot of twopins/brooches and what I think is a dress clip, all done in an Art Deco style.
The first pin measuresapproximately 2-1/4” wide by 5/8” tall and features “feathers” in black, darkblue and gray (I’m not sure what this is made from . . . perhaps glass orenamel). There are three rhinestones atthe top and more set around the edges. The pin is made from silver tone metal and has a neat safety feature onthe pin (you pull out a little “plunger” which releases the pin). The metal has darkened, and the glass/enamelshows surface wear, but there are no missing stones or other damage.
The second pin measuresapproximately 3” wide by ¾” tall and is in the shape of a curvy arrow flyingthrough a rectangle. The pin isdecorated with bright green rectangular glass pieces with rhinestones allaround. It’s made from silver tone metaland is in good condition, with no damage or missing stones.
I think the third piece iscalled a dress clip. It’s made fromblack plastic (or, perhaps, bakelite) done in the shape of a leaf. The top is covered with rhinestones. The clasp on the back has four sharp littleprongs, I guess to grip into fabric. Theclip shows some wear to the back, but there are no missing stones.
(Please excuse my poorphotography skills. A lot of the“darkness” in my pictures is from my shadow, the reflection from my red camera, and objects in the room. The pins aremuch prettier and sparklier than my pictures show.)
