Lovely Antique 1800s Mahogany Key Wind REGULATOR WALL CLOCK Fancy Hood Pendulum:
$700.00

This is a gorgeous antique wood (I think it is mahogany) wall clock that is from about the mid to late 1800s. I have had it hanging on the wall in my foyer for decades. I have decided to part with it. I am not sure who the manufacturer is, nor am I knowledgeable in antique clocks. I do know that this is a very old clock from the mid to late 1800s period. It is in lovely condition for its age as shown in the many photos I\'ve taken. It is done in a dark wood that may be mahogany. It has a gorgeous, ornate hood at the top which features stunning carving as shown in photos and the same carving appears at the base or foot of the clock. It is quite large and impressive, measuring 56\" from the top of the ornate hood to the bottom, 17\" across and about 6\" deep. The door opens and closes and has a glass front, the original key to wind the clock is inside the door. The clock has two wind stations on the front of the clock as you can see on the dial. I believe one is to wind for the time and the other is some type of chime but I\'m not sure. The key has two ends and one of the ends is shaped almost like a square which fits perfectly into the wind parts on the front. I believe the hands on this clock are original and are made of brass, the face I believe is replaced, though I am not 100% sure. The reason I think it is replaced is that it feels like sturdy paper as opposed to a hard material. The pendulum is original as well and has a wooden stick with a huge, heavy brass pendulum that would swing when wound. What I can tell you is that this clock works to the best of my knowledge. My granddad would wind it up and it would work. It has not been wound though in many years and I do not know how to operate it so it is just hanging on my wall silently lol. As mentioned, it has some light surface scratches and/or dings commensurate with the age of the piece, particularly some scuff marking on the base of the clock where the door opens/closes but again this is minimal considering the age of the clock. This is a wonderful opportunity to get a beautiful antique wall clock at a great price. They do not make them like they used to and this has been in my family for many years and well cared for. If you have any questions, please feel free to email. I will be using a professional packing service to pack up and ship this item within the USA so that is why the shipping will be pricey due to size/weight and cost of professional packing. Will also allow local pick-up of item if requested in advance.

I have been asked about the inner workings of the clock. I have taken several photos of the clock winding mechanism by pointing my phone up inside the clock case behind the pendulum. I was able to get some photos of what the inside looks like. If you would like to see the photos, please send me a message and I will attach them for you to see. Thank you!
