This beautiful set of six, Victorian,solid silver dessertspoons is in the classic ‘Fiddle’ pattern.
Except for the usual fine surface marks,commensurate with age and use, and a very small ding in one of the bowls(hardly noticeable and not unsightly), they are in excellent condition for 164years old, with no damage or repairs that I can see, have only minimal wear tothe bowl tips and are without a monogram or crest.
They measure approx. 17.8 cm long, withthe bowls 6.1 cm x 3.8 cm and have a combined weight of 351 grams / 11.28 troyoz.
The hallmarks are crisp and clear; withthe assay office London, the date letter for 1850, the head of Queen Victoriafor duty stamp and the maker’s mark for the renowned Victorian, specialistspoon maker, Elizabeth Eaton.
