LUDWIG HOHLWEIN - ORIGINAL 1934 MAGAZINE - ICONIC CHROMOLITHOGRAPH POSTERS:

A rare original German magazine published in Berlin in July 1934. The title is GEBRAUCHSGRAPHIK - a 68-page publication on international advertising art. This was a celebration edition commemorating the 60th birthday of Ludwig Hohlwein. Inside there are six real chromoligraphic prints of his famous posters, including the iconic 1936 Winter Olympics skier. I have photographed all six and my final two images are of the front and rear covers. There are numerous other illustrations, mainly in black & white but a few in colour, of international posters of the period.
Condition is fair for age. The covers are stained and creased and the spine has some small tears. Internally there is also some staining and creasing. Fortunately the six chromolithographic posters are all quite good - they do have some soft creasing, more pronounced at the corners. However, they would frame up beautifully.
