This is an original US Military issue M40 Test Set for the M57 Firing Device. These were used with the M18 Claymore. This M40 test set is in good working order and is used to test the functionality of an M57 Firing Device and or M18 Claymore circuit. This M40 test set was tested to insure that it works properly. When the circuit is assembled properly the light on the M40 test set will flash as the M57 Firing Device is squeezed rapidly. The cap must be left on the female end of the M40 test set when testing the M57 firing device in order to make the light flash, unless of coarse you have attached an M10 practice blasting cap. This M40 test set was made in November 1974. The pictures are of the actual item that is for sale. I will be glad to answer any questions that you may have.
