Officers Helmet is a model 1897 from the state of Baden, Germany. This style of helmet was worn from 1897-mid World War 1 (1914-1916). Leather is in very good condition. Front of helmet plate has the state of Baden griffin with wings, shield, sword and wearing a crown. Below the griffin is the original scaled officers chin strap with buckle. The cockades on the sides are of the national colors on one side (red,white,black) and on the other side are the colors of the state of Baden (red,gold). Helmet has a tall spike. Spike measures almost 5 inches. Spike base plate is missing one of the star brads on the back hole (look at photos) which sometimes you can find on . Leather head liner and silk lining are in very good condition. Back visor is missing a small amount of edge trim leather, but is not noticeable. Also on the right rear side of the back visor there is a very very small pin hole.Front visor on inside is green,and back visor on inside is red. Original officers name is on the left inside back visor,and his last name is Bollinger. Overall helmet is in very good condition to be over 100 years old.
