This is a magnificent 5 piece collection of 18-19 century miniature paintings from, a collector who used to collect paintings all his life. This collection was purchased in Paris, 60-70 years ago. Some are painted on paper, and some are painted on different material, some are signed, and some are not signed, and some are englishor french, some are in gold, or gold plated frames. The oval painting which shows the gentleman in a formal dress measures approx. 4.15\" by 3.25\", and the round one which shows the ladies white dress it is done by Christophe Guerin french listed artist 1758-1831 and it measures 3.1\" diameter, the other round lady in the red dress which comes with a wonderful turtle shell design frame measures 3.6\" diameter and it is signed by the artist on the lower right, the oval painting of a lady measures 4.4\" by 5.1\", and its done by Richard Cosway 1740-1821, this painting is signed on the lower right and it shows Madam Cecilia.The last 18 century oval painting of a boy, measures 3.5\" by 4.1\" framed,and 1.25\" by 1.6\" unframed.
