Magnificent Victorian solid silver (tested) wide bracelet/bangle with secret compartment! (Very Lucrezia Persian or Arabian.
Measurements;6.6cm internal length, 5.2cm internal width, 17cm / 6 3/4\" internal circumference, 4.6cm height (at front)and the secret compartmentis; 4.2cm diameter.
Wonderful, highly detailed design with raised flower, bead and scroll work all around.
To thefront iswhat could be Persian or Arabic influenced decoration to the compartment cover with two half moons to either side. Thisis hinged and opens up to reveal a secret compartment which could be used for a photograph of a loved one etc although its original use is unknown.
Closes very securely with the silver pin which slots through three hinges and also has the addition of a silver safety chain.
Also carries a hallmark or makers stamp to edge of back but unfortunately I cannot make it out.
A highly intriguing and unusual bracelet which is also strong, well made and robust.
