MAGNIFICENTLY CARVED BLACK FOREST CUCKOO CLOCK CIRCA 1880/90This really is the most beautiful clock and extremelyelaborately carved. The height ofthe clock top to bottom (excluding the weights and pendulum) is 20 inches. The width at the cresting is 15 inches. It has beautifully carved hands and the minute hand has a repair on it. As you can see in the pictures it has unusual numbers which are enamel plaques. It has the original pendulum and the weights are beautiful as well. The case is in very good condition considering its age. There are a few marks and a couple of separations on the carving but remember the clock is approximately 130 years old but it is very difficult to be exact on the age. I have had the clock running for a considerable amount of time and it runs very well and cuckoo\'s but it probably could do with a service at some point. It has a beautiful old cuckoo, there is a picture of it coming out of the door. The perch has been repaired at some point. I took the pictures of the clock in my garden because the lighting is better and it would give you a better idea of how beautiful this clock is. It is advisable never to run the clock in the garden as it seems to attract lots of birds (joke, i think). But seriously, have a look at the pictures and if there are any questions please do not hesitate to ask. All items shipped are usually transported with UPS who are exceptionally good and are fully tracked. If shipped out of the UK Mainland I would make a purpose wooden crate and the clock will be cushioned inside on foam rubber. I have done this many times with great success.
