Stunning Maher of Utica vintage mens frock coat and vest. Beautifully hand crafted. Lovely grossgrain piping and details. Cloth covered buttons. Silk interior lining along with soft cotton sleeve lining . Vest also silk/cotton lined with lovely trim piping. Interior pockets on both the coat and vest. A truly authentic piece. Lovely silk covered lapels and trim.
I date this piece from somewhere between the 1870\'s and 1905.The craftmanship on these pieces is breathtaking. Plus the condition is quite amazing considering their age.
This is something you would have seen worn by well appointed gentlemen during the time of the Titanic or Downton Abbey.
No odors rips or tears. Slight staining on inside of vest . Minor flaw at back of jacket collar shown in detail. Other wear is visible in photos . Two of the cloth buttons had been replaced on the vest with matching brass buttons at some point in history. The slight fading of the silk on this piece adds to the look of this outfit.
Considering this is a 100+ year old Jacket and Vest it is still in amazing condition and quite wearable.
I have been collecting vintage mens clothing for almost 30 years . Two and especially three piece suits in such fine wearable condition as these are increasingly rare and very hard to find .
