A book piece, shown in Plate 18 of Penny C. Morrill\'s \"Margot van Voorhies: The Art of Mexican Enamelwork\", these earrings are Margot\'s design # 5603.

Referred to as \"Jeweled Circles and Squares\", it certainly is a title which certainly befits them.

There are three translucent enamel colors at play here, all vivid and sharp. The background is a beautiful yellow gold, the square \"jewels\" are an amethyst purple, and the round \"jewels\" are emerald green. The end result is magnificent, and a truly clever and innovative use of enamel to create another masterpiece. It\'s a very seldom seen design by Margot, and one which looks fabulous on.

Measures 1 7/16\" long X 5/8\" wide.

Weighs 16.3 grams.

Signed and hallmarked \"Margot de Taxco 5603\" on one earring, and a circular \"Sterling Made in Mexico\" with the eagle assay 16 on the other.

In very good vintage condition. Screw backs work perfectly. The enamel is excellent except for one chip in one of the amethyst enamel jewels. I’ve taken lots of photos under magnification, so you can see clearly exactly what I see.
