The Masai tribe of Kenya and Tanzania are famous for their intricate jewellery and beadwork, which is of cultural significance and often worn (or given) at special ceremonies such as engagements, weddings, rites of passage and after successful hunts.

This necklace is made from porcupine quills, linked together with small black beads.
