SPECTACULAR, ANTIQUE, TOLE CHANDELIER. Dating to the Art Nouveau period (c1890), this massive chandelier features alarge cage with an abundance of climbing roses and vines. The chandelier isall metaland retains the original painted finish. It has large tole roses on the base and on the under side of the fixture as well as at the top. The center ismore open with hundreds of finely detailed leaves and spiral vine accents. This section is also dotted with large roses as well. The chandelier has a unique, large hook at the top of the chandelier (it is removable) that attaches to the original hanging chain. The original,deep bowl canopy is also present. The chandelier is in good, antique condition. The wiring has been updated fairly recently and the fixture is working. The painted finishHAS NOT been restored and is completely original. Itdoes have a beautifully aged character with most of the paint still in tact. The frame is a deep, forest green with the roses in various shades of burgundy, red, orange, cream and gold. There is abend in the iron loop where the large hook attaches at the top. Thisis not distracting and does not affect the balance of the fixture. There are no manufacturer\'s marks. The fixtureoperates with 6, candelabra style bulbs. The original candle sleeves are present and some of them are chipped at the top, Again, this is not distracting and you can replace these if you so desire. As it is, this is an INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL and OLD tole chandelier WITH ALL OF THE ROMANTIC CHARACTER OF PARIS! The last picture will give you an idea of its actual size.
Measures 41\" tall (excluding chain). It is 34\" in diameter. The roses are all generally around 5\". There is approximately 48\" of wiring but only about 13\" of chain so, dependingon your ceiling height, you may want to add more chain.
