About the inspiration for this special event cover : it was in November of 1976 . ..during our nation\'s 200th birthday celebration.. .when former Georgia governor, Jimmy Carter was elected president after having defeated Republican candidate, Gerald Ford. Interestingly enough, it is both President Carter\'s popular vote/electoral vote victory, as well as our nation\'s bicentennial that is being celebrated on the very same cover --- an utterly mind-boggling sense of special timing that could never possibly be duplicated ever again.
