MCM Raymor Pottery Bowl Italian Gambone Fantoni Bitossi Era This is a wonderful mid century modern pottery bowl made in Italy, most likely for Raymor. Raymor used paper labels that normally came off with time and the numbering on the underside of the vase is typical of Raymor production. It should be noted that Raymor was a New York based importer/distributor that worked with Italian designer and potters, such as Aldo Londi and Bitossi - they were not a producer, but imported beautiful pieces. They purposely requested sparse marking or no identification on their pieces so that they would not be cut out as the middleman by the retailer going directly to the producer in Italy. The inscription on the underside reads “492 Made in Italy”. I will say that the decoration reminds me a bit of Giovanni DeSimone, but I really don\'t know who made this. It is glazed in white with green and red striped sections. The piece measures 7.5” diameter and 2.75” height. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks - but there is a glaze pop as pictured in the last photo. Perfect for a mid century decor..... thanks for looking!
