A very rare Copper Meersburg DOUBLE BROILER w/ LID and matching WARMING STAND that are all original and have never been used.
This is a gorgeous and impressive set that is a work of art!
It is a hand wrought hammered finish, 4 piece set that includes a brass warming stand that are all part of the original set. This was a set that was purchased new in Germany by my father-in-law and it has been in our family and well cared for ever since. We guess that he would have purchased it sometime before WWII.
The pans are 8-5/8\" in diameter, 17-3/4\" long with the handle, and a total of 6-1/2\" tall with the top lid handle. Both pans are labeled \"49DB4 R MEERSBURG\" on the bottoms. We believe the wood handle is made of teakwood.
The warming stand is 8-1/4\" in diameter at the top, 6-1/4\" in diameter at the bottom, and is 6\" tall. The bottom is labeled \"4 55 R MEERSBURG\".
Karl Raichle was a foremost German master craftsman/artist of the BAUHAUS School / German Modernist Period and this is a very fine example of his workmanship and design.
This is an absolutely amazing and beautiful set, and it would be highly unlikely to find one like this that is complete and in this condition. This has mostly been safely stored over the years. It has a wonderful patina, and the only wear that is showing are very light scratches on the wood handle and on various areas of the metal, as well as normal minor aging, tarnish and spotting that would be expected for metal pieces like this.Please review the pictures.
