DESCRIPTION& NOTES:AMeissen snake handled bolted urn, baluster body with hand paintedpolychrome floral spray on front and inscription verso, dual twistedsnake form handles on a circular pedestal base. Signed with underglazeblue crossed swords, over blue underglaze 29 over a dot, impressed 139,inscribed underglaze R 153.The inscription on the back side reads: “Unserer / lieben Mutter / zum47. Geburtstage / 1861. 1. Aug. 1908” which literally translates too,“Our / Beloved Mother / of 47 Birthdays / –.– / 1861. 1 Aug. 1908”.

CONDITION:It is in Very Good Vintage Condition; the markis scratched indicating that this is a factory second. The stress crackand glaze oddness on the snake are from production (see pictures).
