a noun -an ornamentfastened to clothing with a hinged pin and catch.

Brooches developed from the ancient Greek and Roman \"fibula\",

Afibulais an ancient broochwhich resembled a decorative safety pin.

Brooches were originally used as a fastener for cloaks and tunics.

They were definitely an improvement on the straightpin,

which could easily fall out; Oops!...

Not to mention, they could be dangerous!

These \"Safety\" Pins are made of iron, with aPlatinum Color Finish.

It is made of one piece of iron, which isbent to form the 3 loops and hinge,

And, it continues on to form the pinhead. It is 52 mm. or about 2” long.

The pin metal thickness, at itsthickest point, is about 1 mm.

Every \"Brooch by Cathy\" comes in a beautiful organza bag; perfect for storage, and for gift giving too.
