MEXICAN SILVER & GREEN ONYX Vintage 1930\'s LARGE BERRY BROOCH Mexico MARBLE 87g
A vintage Silver and Green Onyx Berry Brooch from Mexico, circa 1930\'s.
We are pleased to present this gorgeous vintage Silver and Green Onyx Brooch for your consideration. From Mexico, the Brooch dates to the 1920\'s to 1940\'s time period. Seven \"Green Onyx\" Berries (as commonly described but likely made of Marble) hang from intertwined Silver branches. The Berries are colored light green to light yellow, and show swirls, lines, and color variations typical of Marble.
The Brooch is a large piece, measuring 3 inches high, 4-1/2 inches wide, and about 1 inch thick, with a substantial weight of 87 grams. It is marked SILVER and MEXICO on the back behind the clasp, but there are no markings that identify the designer.
The condition of the Brooch is very good. The Silver metal shows a moderate patina of tarnish, but has been left as found. Some small areas of silver polish are noted in the close up pictures, but are not very apparent to the naked eye. The stones are all intact, but would benefit from a mild polish appropriate to the material. The clasp is fully functional, and the Silver branches are intact and damage free. All pictures show the actual Brooch that you will receive.
This is a large vintage piece, with significant eye appeal, in exceptional condition. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
