This cactus lamp is one of Modeline\'s rare latter mid century offerings!
After making a career of producing Danish Modern styled wood lamps
they produced this wood masterpiece for a changing marketplace.
In the seventies, simultaneously there were competing decorator
trends - an Art Deco revival and a rustic \"earth\" design trend.With this lamp we can see the two trends merge in a lamp that is
rustic and textured as a knotty pine and yet has minimalist smooth
lines as if it were a Deco piece! Furnishing historians can look at a piece
and almost immediately identify the trends that influenced its designer
or manufacturer. This piece is the byproduct of its time and was the literal
end of an era for the handcrafted lamp throughout the world.This lamp is simply amazing and when lit in a darkened room,
creates a surreal mood. Pure mid century eye candy!
