MING JIAJING to LONQING 3 PHOENIX PLATE MING 1500s PERIODThis rare Ming 1500s plate has 3 finely painted phoenix facing towards a 3 pointed cloud that was typical of the 1500s ming period. The cobalt used is of a rich almost violet tone with a strongoutline and then lightly washed in, both the colour and technique was commonly used in the JIAJING period. The reverse has afoot rimalso typical of JIAJING period and anauspiciousshop mark that has been found on other JIAJING examples.Please check photo below for a similar example.
Condition :It is in very good condition,NO MAJOR CRACKS, BUT THERE IS A SMALL FIRING CRACK NEAR THE CENTRE TO THE RIGHT AND SOME RIM FRITTING, KILN GRIT, AND OTHER FIRING PITS.Please check photos.

POVINANCE:I have recently come back from a trip to the countryside of Japan where I did some picking in antique shops and deceased estates.I found some great Chinese porcelain there and will be selling most of it on with in the next couple of weeks.
CHINESE PORCELAIN IN JAPAN:Obviously China imported a lot of porcelain to Japan in the YUAN, MING & QING dynasty as they had a business andreligious relationship with Japan.
