MINGEI JAPANESE FOLK ART CALENDAR 1965 FULL YEAR SERIZAWA KATAZOME Stencil-dyed Japanese Folk Art Calendar
Part of the Mingei (Folk Art) movement, a 20th century effort to preserve and revive traditional Japanese handicrafts displaced by industrialization. The paper-dyeing technique was developed by Serizawa and others from traditional methods used to produce hand-patterned fabrics. I have other years available so please ask for a specific year if you don’t already see it in my store.
This calendar for 1965 is complete with all 12 months, 12 sheets of handmade paper. Each sheet measures about 11” wide by 14 1/4” tall with some variation due to the hand-made nature of the paper. The calendar sheets are in very good condition.
Shipped flat in a protective archival quality plastic sleeve.
