MINIATURE POSTAL POST STAMP LETTER HAND HELD SCALES BALANCE 1888 VICTORIAN:

This is for anice old Victorian hand held letter balance and stamp case in the form of an envelope. It has a clip on the base to hold and weigh a letter thus moving the sprung weighted button to the marked weights that are in ounces and pence. It is marked \'Postage\' with aregistereddesign number 102604 dating it to 1888 and it is hinged so the spring inside can be seen.It is in excellent condition with no dents, the spring is still tight and there is a nice unpolished patina to the brass. It measures 27mm (1) x 23mm x17mm (0.25\") deep.
