This genuine Victorian novelty scent or perfume bottle measures 43mm (1.75\'\') across x 55mm (2.25\'\') high x 12mm (.5\'\') and weighs 25 grams. The lid is fully hallmarked for solid sterling silver London 1886 with the makers mark S.M for the famous Victorian silversmith Sampson Mordan. The body is made from two back to back willow pattern plates with the registration number 29260 to the base and was probably produced by Spode, Worcester or Derby. Unusually it is in excellent condition with a clear pattern, no staining and no damage to the silver top or the porcelain. A very fine example of a Victorian novelty scent bottle from the best maker of the period in excellent condition.
