Up for sale is this framed watercolor painting. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This painting depicts a junk-ridden landscape which includes a house, a dirt pile, a sewage pipe, a tire, and miscellaneous rubbish. It is painted in a realistic, yet modernist style. The artwork is under glass with matting. This has its original silvertone metal frame. The visible art area is approximately 23 1/2 inches by 17 1/2 inches; the exterior frame dimensions are approximately 28 3/8 inches by 22 3/8 inches. Unpacked, this item weighs about 8 pounds 0.2 ounces. It would make a nice addition to a collection of California regionalist fine art.Identification
The painting is by Harold Stephen Wylie. There is information verso, including the artists\'s business cards and a title card. The title card says the following, \"Rural Ecology No. 61 Junkpile, Los Banos\" Watercolor. Per the artist\'s website, Harold Stephen Wylie (1941- ) was born in Los Angeles. He was educated at Fresno State College, and received a master\'s degree from California State University in Sacramento. His instructors included Adolph Odorfer, Darwin Musselman, John Ed Herbert, Carlos Villa, James Nutt, Robert Else, Joseph Raffael, Kurt Von Meier, and John Fitzgibbons. Wylie taught art at the high school and college level. He exhibited at Crocker-Kingsley Annual (1973, 1977), Cal-Expo State Fair Show (1973, 1974, 1977), Watercolor, U.S.A. (1975), Bechtle International Center, Stanford University (1978), Villa Montalvo Center for the Arts (1978), Watercolor West, Utah State University (1983). Currently, Wylie is in his mid 70s, and he lives in Sagle, Idaho.Condition
This painting is in very good condition, with no damage found. The mat also looks very good. The frame also looks very good overall, with minor finish wear. Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier. Economy shipping within the U.S. includes delivery to a physical address via an economy shipping method of the seller\'s choice.
