This sale is a unique andvery rare example of the men’s ORIGINALtimepiece which was made by Swiss company MOERIS.In 30\'s, many Swiss manufacturers supplied watches mainly for military purposesand this specimen is executed in a military style under the military order of German Army. It is a piece of history that survived the war on the Eastern frontwhich saw much of the bloodiest battles of WW2!
It\'s known a lot of watches\'MOERIS\' with a marking \'D.H\' (DeutschesHeer – German Army – ground forces of Wehrmacht). The given watch hasn\'t acorresponding marking on the case, and it is impossible to argue that this itemis a military order. However, this timepiece has signs of a watch that was madefor marine purposes, and on its design the item is very similar to the officialorder Kriegsmarine.
This timepiece is interestingits strict military design. Thisgorgeous men’s timepiece features a light-colored metal dial in good condition.The watches with metal dials were issued for Army and remained theprivilege of officers. The original facefeatures a 60 minute outer track border, Arabic numerals, original hands and aslightly sunken sub-seconds dial. The dial is signed ‘MOERIS’. There is also inscription ‘SWISS MADE’.
This model of watch has a three-piece case. The inside of backlid is stamped case reference number #2629448.
This unique watch is mechanical and completely original. The qualitative signed original movementwith cleaned genuine 15 jewels wasvery well saved, considering age of this watch. The ADJUSTED movement of caliber \'19H\'has inscription \'SWISS MADE\' thattestifies this watch has been assembled on 100%exclusively in Switzerland.
This military watch was remade for use as a wristwatch. Not to lose the watch out ofa usual pocket, the officers have started to weld on the case the second ringor to do two wire lugs and to pass through them a band, to adhere watches to awrist.

In1893 Fritz Moeri founded the predecessor company Moeri & Jeanneret with \"Moeri\'s Patent\", anon-magnetic lever movement with exchangeable parts.
In1905 Moeris was one of the companies experimenting with the new Invarhairspring in their watches. At the Exhibition in Milan in 1906, the company won a HorsConcourse award for being a member of the jury.
In1909 the company was granted a patent for a timer housed in Binoculars. By 1923they were producing chronographs and timers as well as their watches.
Moeriswas one of the first watch companies that have started to make a wristwatch.
In1939-1945, Moeris has released the military model of watches for Germans. The watches wereproduced under the military order of Germany.
