Exquisite, antique Chinese cast bronze hu shaped vase of exceptionallyfine museum quality. Sublime archaic form, depicting boldly cast taotie masks and stylized kui dragons upon a leiwen ground, withornate blade shaped lappets above a second wide taotie band at thebaluster base. The entirety flanked bya pair of mythicalbeast handles. All upon a raised, flaring foot. Would have originally graced an imperial household or scholar\'s studio in the late Ming or early Qing dynasty. The casting is absolutely superb,and the deep amber patina most handsome.Displays elegantly, drawing attention from all the way across the room. Marked on the underside with a well cast sealmark. Of significant size, measuring approximately 12.25\" high and 7.75\" wide.A tasteful masterpiece, rarely seen on the open market, representing the finest of theChinese scholar\'s aesthetic. Would make an exquisite centerpiece for the discriminating connoisseur of world-class Chinese antiques or as museum acquisition.
