Magnificent & Extremely Rare 1930s Art Deco Carlton Ware Blue Floral Comets Vase:

Here for your consideration is an absolutely exquisite and extremely rare, circa1930s, Carlton Ware, floral comets vase profusely decorated to the exterior with gold gilt linear and coloured decoration, designed by Vi Elmer.
This pattern was first introduced in the early 1930s. There are no records in existence regarding the number made, but this pattern with the blue ground is pretty rare and not seen all that often. This would have been an expensive vase to produce at the time and it is our belief thatit would have been manufactured to order rather than having shelves of them in the factory, waiting to be sold to retailers.
We wouldn\'t like to hazard a guess as to how many were actually made but they don\'t seem to appear in vast numbers. Floral comets was available in different coloured backgrounds. Gloss blue, matt blue and matt green that we know of, also many different shapes including vases, tea sets, coffee sets and desk sets etc.
To the base is the printed Carlton Ware trademark black script with \'Made in England\'.
It\'s in absolutely fantastic original condition with no chips, scratches, fleabites, and very little gilt wear. A really fabulous piece of Carlton Ware, hard to believe it\'s 83 years of age. I\'m afraid my photos aren\'t doing this magnificent piece of Carlton Ware true justice because the light reflection is hindering the exquisite visual appeal, of this spectacular vase.
Whoever purchases this delightful vase, I guarantee will not be disappointed. As you can see from my photos this lovely vase seems to colour shift depending on room lighting conditions, which is quite striking, it looks different at certain times of the day. It\'s one of those pieces of Carlton Ware that you never seem to get fed up with looking at, a really fantastic design concept from one the worlds best ceramic makers.
