This very large Georgian Mourning, memorial brooch is a \'work of art\' it features plumes of hair with gold thread and pearl work. The hair is of different colours and shades and would undoubtedly be a family brooch with locks of hair of each family member.

The brooch is probably an heirloom brooch not a mourning brooch, these were created as love tokens or keepsakes.

On the reverse is a photo of a woman holding a scroll.

The brooch tests as 15carat gold, it has a hallmark that is indecipherable.

Complete with gold pin, T-bar and C-clasp fitting.

This Magnificent Antique brooch will be delivered in a new black leatherette and velvet box.
