On June 1, 1995 (the 69th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe\'s birthday),the U.S. Postal Service issued this sheet ofMarilynMonroegummed 32-cent stamps in Universal City, CA - the1st issuance in theLegends ofHollywoodseries, commemorating film personalities who have made an indelible mark on the American motion picture industry. The portrait of Monroe is by the artist Michael Deas of New Orleans, LA, and was based on a 1950s studio photograph.
