The Mariner\'s Companss Brown Ceramic China Pitcher by Sandland Hanley Staffordshire Made in England!
This small pitcher features a mariner\'s compass on one side and a little poem on the other side (The hardy sailor braves the Ocean; Fearless of the roaring Wind; Yet his heart with soft emotion; Throbs to leave his love behind.) The pitcher is brown with white graphics, including little stars under the top rim. There is a little bit of gold paint around the rim and the handle. The bottom is marked Sandland Hanley Staffordshire Made in England. There also an imprinted number, which I can\'t read clearly - it might say 1541 but I\'m not sure. The pitcher measures about 4 1/2\" tall x 2 3/4\" across the bottom x 2 7/8\" across the top (not including the spout). It\'s in good condition, without chips or cracks, but the gold paint on the pitcher shows some wear.
