Mary Engelbreit 1998 CHERRIES JUBILEE Teapot Creamer Sugar Bowl Pie Plate 4 Cups:

From a local estate, I am offering 10 pieces of Mary Engelbreit \"Cherries Jubilee.\" There is a teapot and lid, a sugar bowl and lid, a creamer, pie plate, and four mugs/cups. The pattern is delightful as all of Engelbreit\'s patterns are. The pieces are hand painted with ribbons/bands of cherries accented with a soft green check border. Engelbreit\'s signature appears on the front of each piece. Each piece is marked \"ME - (c)1998 Mary Engelbreit Ink - Licensee Enesco Corporation - Made in China.\"
Here is the detail on each piece:The teapot has a tiny chip on the handle and a chip on the inside rim which is not visible from the outside. It measures approximately 6 3/4\" tall with the lid in place, 9\" from spout to handle, and 6 1/4\" diameter at the widest point. The creamer measures about 3\" tall and 4\" across the top. There is a tiny chip on one cherry on the handle. The sugar bowl has no flaws. The pie plate is approx. 12\" in diameter and 2\" deep and has a mark on the outside of the plate. It is small and white. It may scrub out, but I didn\'t want to try.The four mugs measure approximately 4\" tall x 3 1/4\" diameter. No chips or cracks.
All of the pieces are very pretty, very cute, and ready for use. What an amazing gift for any Mary Engelbreit collector!
Cold Painting: Red is a difficult color to fire. The metal oxides that give the color to the glaze cannot withstand the high temperatures of the kiln. Cold-painting is one solution to achieving red decorations. With this technique, a red lacquer paint is applied to the decoration after the other colors have been fired. The lacquer does not adhere very well to the glaze, and the painted decoration easily wears away with use/handling and washing. If you find any of the Engelbreit pieces without missing paint, you are looking at some real rarities.
