Up for sale is a one-of-a-kind,gorgeous,massive 8-day French carriage clock. The large bronze case, measuring 18.5cm (with the handle folded) x 10.5cm x 9.25cm (7 1/4\" x 4 1/8\" x 3 5/8\") weighs in at an impressive 3kg (just over 6 pounds). Particularly striking are the ornate pillars and touches of copperembellishment on the case, including the front window. The case has been cleaned (but not polished). This carriage clock will demand respect fromacross a room.

The silver dial isspectacular,featuring engine turning and foliate engraving, a subsidiary alarm chapter, and blued steel hands. The thick, bevelled glass are almost perfect (except for a minor spot of crazing on the corner of the rear door).

The movement runs eagerly and keeps accurate time. The clock strikes the hourson the hour and once on the half hour, and repeats the last hour on demand. All parts of the clock, including theleverescapement, are original to the clock.

I have provided a new, brass double-sided winding and setting key appropriate for the clock.
