A beautiful set ofMeiji era Japaneseeggshell porcelain tea cups and saucers. Kutani (?) Covered with hand-painted white chrysanthemums with gold centers and edges, green leaves, and a red and gold painted rim with gold leaves. There is also raised white enamel on the petals throughout that gives dimension to the flowers. Each handle is covered in gold gilding also.

There are sets called \"Thousand Flowers\" that are similar, but these are different because of their beautiful red and gold rims.

These are so thin, they are almost transparent, and yet they are wonderfully strong! I don\'t believe they have ever been used, they look like they have only been displayed. They are in excellent condition with very little signs of wear. There are no chips or cracks.

Each cup is 2\" tall by about 3 1/4\" in diameter, if the handle is included. The cup is about 2 1/2\" diameter without the handle. The saucers are 3 3/4\" in diameter.
