Men\'s Antique Platinum 2.17 ct Diamond Ring circa 1920-1930\'s:
$11000.00

My grandfather brought several loose diamonds back from Europe in the 1920\'s or 30\'s (his memory was a bit fuzzy in his later years). After he had rings, necklaces and earrings made for my grandmother, he kept this beauty for himself and had a gentleman\'s ring made - I think it is sized for 10 or 11. I usually wear a 10 on mymiddle finger and this ring is a bit loose.

It is a Round Brilliant Cut diamond measuring 8.64 x 4.93 mm or approx. 2.17+ carats with a 57% depth and 51.5% table. The diamond is HI in color and VS2 in clarity with an open culet. It is set in Platinum. The mounting with the center stone weighs 12.7 grams and is designed with an elongated octagonal top with split shoulders. The band is engraved with an ornate floral and Grecian Key pattern. Traditionally for this period, sapphires were sometimes added on each side of the diamond, but they were not added to this ring - Granddad wanted just the diamond.

I had this ring appraisedin 2011 and was replacement valued at $26690.00. This is a very handsome ring and is not garish like some antique jewelry can be. I think whoever purchases this ring will be quite pleased. Happy offerding!
