Up for sale is a Mermod & Jaccard Jewelry Co. of St. Louis Mo. 18 size pocket watch.
The movement, marked as Standard St. Louis, Mo. and manufactured by the Hamilton Watch Company, is a grade 929, model 2, 18 size, 15 jewel, lever set, in hunter configuration. Serial number of 17135 puts the date of manufacture to 1895. Movement is not running as the balance staff is broken. There is some discoloration on the regulator arm. Watch will need to be repaired and serviced to guarantee accuracy.
Enamel dialhas a few hairline cracks but no major chips. Dial ismarked Mermod & Jaccard Jewelry Co. St. Louis, Mo. with Roman numerals. The morning glory hour and minute hands show discoloration and the minute hand has a bend in the middle.
The case is manufactured by Wadsworth. It is a Pilot model with 20 year guarantee gold fill. Excluding the crown, the case measures about 55mm across. The crystal is in poor condition and will need to be replaced. There are several wear through spots of the gold fill and a dent near 12 o\'clock. The crown is worn smooth and should be replaced if the watch is to be used.
