Parabolic reflector designed to fix into a hole in the microscope stage. The reflector is then positioned close to the (opaque) object being viewed and reflects and concentrates light onto the specimen. The device is in excellent condition with the brasswork retaining all of its original gold-lacquered finish. The mirror, incidentally, is formed from relatively thick sheet silver swaged to a brass backing and so can be “re-polished” almost indefinitely.
