Description This sweet pink and white cat was discovered in a forgotten corner at an estate sale. Even with her coating of dust I recognized the high gloss over pastel matte glaze, and the classic Kay Finch styling of this 10.5” pussy cat. She is unsigned, yet unmistakably Kay Finch Studios. The attention to detail makes me believe that this is perhaps an early rendition of the “Ambrosia” figurine. Puss has been through a lot, and has some crazing indicative of her age, plus some paint loss in a few places. The beautiful pastel color remains, but the shiny over-glaze is missing in some spots. Also, there appears to be a small glaze-skip spot on one ear. Despite her flaws, this is one sweet kitty, and she makes a very nice shelf piece, as the flaws are mostly noticeable only with handling and close scrutiny. It would also make a great starter piece for a Kay Finch collector. Perfect versions of this piece have sold for hundreds of dollars.
