This is a rare sign I can\'t identify all that well. It\'s likely an R27/R30 IND rollsign judging by the fonts and letters included, but the material seems to be an incredibly early form of mylar that appears almost to have been cast backwards--i.e. the lettered sign is bumpy and unevenly cast. The letters are not sharply cut and there is bleeding around the edges. There is no BMT addition, and there is no print date, so it may have been a replacement roll made in house. The EE is absent but the BB is present. The GG description is period style for the early 1960s, but the letterforms are like those of 1940s vellum signs, not the R32/R38 rolls of 1964 and 1968. The mylar is also thicker than most any other NYCTA rollsign I\'ve handled, so my guess is that it came from the Coney Island Shop rather than Transign, Translite, or American Identification Products. It has rare sign house deformities that I can\'t fully explain. It may have been a prototype sign, or just an awkwardly cast replacement. It\'s rare in any form, and perfectly preserved. It has never been used so its colors are crisp and clean. Other signs available--contact for more info.
