Mint "end Of The Trail" Bronze Clad Antique Bookends By Galvano Bronze ~1928:
Up for purchase is a set of bronze clad bookends that depicts a variation of the famous End of the Trail Indian sculpture by James Earle Fraser. This rendition was made by Paul Beneduce, an artist for the Galvano Bronze company who manufactured these bookends circa 1928. The name "P. Beneduce" appears on the horse tail end of the bookends along the base along with a copyright mark followed by lettering that I cannot read. The base measures 4.5 x 2.5-inches in size and the height is 8-inches. One bookend weighs 38.9 ounces and the other one weighs 37.8 ounces. See photos for details.
This set is in mint condition. There are no chips, dents, or cracks in the metal surfaces. The only wear is a scant bit of rubbing to the paint highlights. An exceptionally nice set!
See my store for many more very antique bookends in nice condition.
