super vintage mid century modern Raymor Italy pottery with turned up edges & hand painted abstract design which looks very much like that of Angelo Testa textiles (it very well could be a Testa design or a tribute to his designs .......we will leave that to you experts ...)
this doesn\'t just have the Raymor label....it is also signed AND numbered
actually its numbered 3 times ....once with what appears to be a limited edition type mark 39/73 ..........(this is repeated on the label ) .............. then there is another number 5219 it is signed right on the pottery Made In Italy RAM 39/73 RAYMOR ....................... label has the earlier shape & it is larger than the more common small yellow rectangular version............................. it says Modern In The Tradition of Good Taste ........& ......Styled and Imported & is signed Raymor twice again ..........also in ink is RAM 39/73 there is a circular blemish on the bottom (shown) ... at first we thought it was in the making ,(hence I wrote that on the image....ooops) ......... but now that I am overlooking the entire piece again and again... I think we figured out what gives ........................ as there are 2 rubs to glaze on an edge at back & the circular indent ...it appears to us that this was once mounted inside of a hanging device & displayed on the wall ............ the hanging device made the marks ..the good news is this would also explain why the front is in such remarkable condition for its age ..... being hung on a wall as art rather than lying on a table ........ is what saved the parts you actually see ............................. to put your mind at ease I WILL add at least 1 more image showing this better....& I am sorry I did not notice it until now ................. again...its on the white back edge..... just give me a day or 2 & if it is not there by then...email to remind me ............ I would be grateful ..not offended ! UPDATE: March 4th ............ I finally had time to add 2 clear images of this ..so Thank You for your patience! so...its not perfect (on the back /edge) .... but its excellent other than what is overly mentioned.............. .... &......... usually glazes over the white clay are prone to crazing...but this doesn\'t have any it measures 8.5 by 8.5 by 1.75 high
also.................please don\'t be offended by the one image I show ...........it was all in fun ............ we don\'t indulge......but .....we don\'t judge....& neither should you ................... with that great upturned edge....it did put it in my head that it would be useful for \"something in particular\" other than fruit or as just a great piece of Raymor Italian art pottery ......................... p.s ............1 like this was on 1st dibs offered by a very prominent NY dealer.............. it was sold... so we can\'t tell you the cost............... but sure it was high ticket ..............................& we found a box on a classy blog ........also from a known New Yorker (& a nice fellow) ............
each person had their own different name for the pattern.......................... you can do the homework if you like !
( we can ship this USPS PARCEL POST to keep the cost down as much as possible ........buyer pays insured shipping ( partial insurance was placed in handling fee slot...we do not charge handling fees & any more than the couple bucks we put there we will pay for ourselves ) the other things we must mention : now that has unfairly changed its response policy, sorry but our only recourse is to report non paying buyers on day 4 .... we expect personal contact via the buyer within s policy of 2 days or less folks we are not robots over here, communication means a lot to us ...and is important in all forms of relationships ! those little stars they ask you click ...well those are important to the sellers ratings .. if they are judged unfairly by the buyer ... they can do harm ....& a couple of those categories ... the seller has no power to change (like shipping costs)
in THIS country now charges the SELLER 9 percent of shipping charges .... so factor in that 9% of postal fees, ....then packaging supplies & cost of gas to drop off packages , the many hours of labor ; etc, etc .... & you will better understand that most sellers actually LOSE a good amount of funds where shipping is concerned ..... ...............especially sellers like us .... who offer larger items such as furniture / large art / lighting / etc
we don\'t \"create\" postal costs ..that is done by UPS & USPS
hey ..... if we could afford to offer free shipping we would ....but we already spend between 4 & 5 grand a year just on packing supplies so that your items arrive safely! another factor a lot of buyers may not realize... final fee costs have about DOUBLED in the past couple years.... ..... (they make it look like they are doing the seller a favor by not charging the 25 cent to a dollar listing fees up to 50 items .... but instead ... they greatly increased the Final Fee Charge ..... when we started over 15 years ago ... I believe the FF was 2.8 % ? ....now its nearly 10 % .......PLUS the 9 % of shipping ...PLUS the PAYPAL fees (which owns ) won\'t you please take into consideration this near 30 percent commission each seller pays for every single item they sell ...before you push that less than 5 score at the shipping cost slot ?? the other stars..... item not as described??? ...well ....we supply several images in ALL of our listings ..... & at times we show images with giant arrows pointing at any flaws we feel not only need to be mentioned...but also pointed out visually .. ....
lack of communication??...won\'t be from our end ... at some point we check our emails 7 days a week & are always quick as possible to respond to any questions .....
