The distinctive features which have marked the history of the Montegrappa collections converge into NeroUno but with more modern lines: the traditional octagonal shape sheers off into a slightly more conical line, the end of the barrel enriched with 1912 silver disk and the Montegrappa logo round the top of the cap, have come to be recognized as an outstanding signature. The characteristic rotating sphere at the tip of the clip has been reinterpreted and in the fountain pen range even the 18K gold pen nib carries an even more original and modern design. The shape of the Montegrrappa NeroUno Linea is very comfortable in the hand and the styling details are first class from the parallel grooved resin to the faceted cap to the logo to the brand name written in cursive. The trim is either chrome or rose gold plated. The Montegrappa NeroUno Linea ballpoint is a twist action that employs a common Parker-style ballpoint refill. Both the fountain pen and the rollerball have screw caps that post well. Besides the 18K gold nib on the fountain pen, it uses either international cartridges or the included converter for bottled ink filling. Please specify nib choice (fine, medium, broad) when ordering. At the same time, I started collecting knives when I became a Cub Scout, so my roots go way back in both pens and knives.
