scholars, museums, the top sale firms of the world, and collectors of
Chinese antiques will be able to truly respond to the magnitude of this
astonishing Scholar’s Stone.
is the stone itself naturally formed millions of years ago, but the custom
wooden brilliant base on which it stands shows evidence that it is an antique.
The moody, dark stone has a glacially washed surface that it would seem was
formed by Master of the universe for the purpose for which it would be
itself possesses a natural formed cave with large overhang that is heralded by
the artistic wooden base that has a pair of stairs — one to the left and one to
the right — rising up to form the beautifully curving floor of the cave. Many observers
who have seen it have likened it to an amphitheater, so dramatic is its

weight can only be guessed at. We have no one in our home hefty enough to lift

we will hire someone to come in and weigh it if you should so choose. But it
is extremely dense.
