Not onlyis the stone itself naturally formed millions of years ago, but the customwooden brilliant base on which it stands shows evidence that it is an antique.The moody, dark stone has a glacially washed surface that it would seem wasformed by Master of the universe for the purpose for which it would beultimately used.

The stoneitself possesses a natural formed cave with large overhang that is heralded bythe artistic wooden base that has a pair of stairs — one to the left and one tothe right — rising up to form the beautifully curving floor of the cave. Many observerswho have seen it have likened it to an amphitheater, so dramatic is itssculptural form.

During itsrealm in our home, it has been displayed a little below eye level, which displays itmystique very well. Of course lighting can be used for greater impact, but thetruth is, when well placed, everyone who enters the room where it is stationed isimmediately drawn to it. It begs for multitudinous questions from anyone heldin rapt attention within its embrace.

This has been for us,as retiring collectors and throughout our lives, one of the miraclesof the natural world as it was created. Its massive size and weight may not beas large as Niagara Falls,but the awe striking feeling of seeing it is similar.

We wouldhope that it could end up in a major museum for the enjoyment of many.
