This is aTwo-Piece Moorcroft Pottery lidded jarwith abrown backgroundand a red Hibiscus flower as the centerpiece on the jar and on the lid. This is a very unusual and rare color version of the Hibiscus design.The jar measures 4.25 incheshigh by 3.5 inches wide at its widest pointand weighs approximately12 ounces. On the underside of the jarit is marked Moorcroft and MadeIn England in block letters.Theirare no markings on the underside of the lid. This lidded jar was made in the 1970s andis in amazing shape considering its age with no scratches or crazing. If youlike doingresearch, you can find some of the various Moorcroft pieces in theHibiscus design on pages 139, 141, 145, 146, 147, and 148in Paul Atterbury\'s book on Moorcroft published in 1993.
