Here for sale is this exquisite Mottahedeh Porcelain teapot! It features an armorial scene depicting a Family crest. I believe this is the crest of the Earl of Chatham. It is reproduced here as a copy of the 18th C Chinese export examples. The crest banner reads Benigno Numine. Several different English translations include, \"A friendly nod\", \"Kind divine power\", \"With the Benevolent Deity\" or \"By the Favour of the Heavens\". It is monogrammed with a \"C\" and also \"HC\", presumably standing for Chatham. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks staining, or repairs. It is marked on the bottom as shown with the Mottahedeh and Vista Alegre logos shown, and also titled. It measures approx. 6 3/4\" tall X 9 1/2\" across from handle to spout..This is a fabulous and scarce teapot to add to a good Mottahedeh collection, or decorate in an chinoiserie decor!
