Antique Brides Basket

This is a rare unique Pairpoint quadruple silverplate basket that holds a lovely hand painted Mount Washington bowl. My pictures look like the bowl has light and dark pink but the dark pink is caused by shadows in my photography.

The basket is marked underneath identifying it as pairpoint quadruple silver plate made by Pairpont in New Bedford, Mass., USA. This is also a number engraved, B4710.

The basket design is highly detailed with what looks like a lily bud on top and an open flower on each side. Below where the bowl sits has a lovely repeat leaf design each culminating into four knob like feet. The holder height is 11-1/4\" and at the widest part of the handle is 11\".The area where the bowl sits is 4-1/4\" and from foot to foot 5-3/4\".

The bowl features several hand painted enamel roses. The glass basket in also unique in that it is cased with a pink colored glass. Under the pink is white glass and on the outside is clear glass. The bowl at its widest is 10-1/4\". Bowl fits securely in its holder.

I lightly polished the silverplate so you can see the detail more clearly. I did not see any wear through of the silver but if present it is not easily seen. The glass basket is free of chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.The painted enamel roses are in excellent antique condition with only some slight fading to the rose on the bottom, see photos.
