(Rare and unusual find) Very large American Arts and Crafts antique hand carved frame by NewcombMacklin, 1904.This is an extraordinarily unique frame in that it was owned by American (Lyme) Impressionist painter Frank Vincent Du Mond. It has been stored in what washis studio unused until just a few years ago. Du Mond\'s name is drawn on the reverse side in pastel chalk.

The outer dimensions are 50 1/2 inches x 68 inches x 3 inches deep.the rabbet is 1/2\" and the depth along the sides of the frame is 7/8\". It holds a painting 44 1/2 inches by 62 inches. The sight is 43 inches x 61 inches.The carvings are deep and very beautiful. The patina is excellent, and the frame is in original condition. Nothing has been done to it, not even lightly washing to remove any dust or dirt from 110 years of storage. In one of the pictures you can see a person standing next to the frame for scale. She is 5\' 6\" tall. There are nicks and scratches appropriate for its age. Structurally it is in fine condition. I was advised by a frame expert to touch nothing. The gold gilt is a great color and the frame has always been stored in a non-humid and moderate temperature.
