The FAOW series began publication inthe late 1960s and are highly illustrated monographs focusing on a specificaircraft or family of aircraft. Text isin Japanese, but the photographs, scale line drawings, cut-away drawings,cockpit diagrams, close-up detail drawings and profiles transcend the writtenword and have appealed to aircraft hobbyists and aviation historians to thisday. The formats and covers haveslightly changed over the years.Originally, the FAOW covers were White and beginning in 1971, changed toBlue. In 1979, the FAOW covers changedto a Chart or Graph-paper background, and then in 1986, changed to the currentBlack Cover series. The more popular aircraft, like the HAYATE, have hadcoverage in multiple FAOWs, and this three book set offers all FAOWs everpublished on the aircraft. Note thatthere is some duplication in this set.

All three FAOWS are 7.25 x 10.25 inch softcovers, and the Black CoverFAOW is 88 pages long and is brand-new. The Chart Cover FAOW is 56 pages long and isin good+condition with wear on the covers.The Blue Cover FAOW is 58 pages long and in FAIR+ condition with slightwear to the covers.
