This rare Winston Cup Case pocketknife set has been stored in my smoke free home since it was issued in 1994. I just opened the case for the first time this week to take pictures for this ad. The knives are all still in their original box and with the exception of two have never been opened. I did open two to inspect and take pictures. The box corners are worn from a couple of moves but the knives should be in mint condition (see pictures in ad). The case is cherry and shows no wear. Again...I have never had this piece open until now nor has it been displayed. It is basically new in the box. This set contains twenty-one case pocket knives, each dedicated to a champion professional race car driver. This collection comes in a solid cherry display case featuring brass handles, locks; hardware. Inside of the lid is a tin lithograph of the \"Winston Cup Champions\" from 1971 - 1990. This pocketknife collection consists of 21 Case XX knives. Each knife represents the years championship driver. Each knife blade is etched with the champion driver\'s name and picture, along with a gold plated Case & Winston Cup Champion logo. The blades are constructed of surgical stainless steel and the boulsters are solid nickle silver with bone or stag handles. Knives measure 7 1/2\" - 9 1/2\" open and are each stamped 205. Champion drivers represented are Richard Petty 1971, 1972, 1974, 1975,1979 - (five knives), Benny Parsons 1973 - (one knife) Cale Yarborough 1976,1977, 1978 - (three knives) Dale Earnhardt 1980, 1982 ,1985 - (three knives), Darrell Waltrip 1981, 1982, 1985 - (three knives), Bobby Allison 1983 - (one knife), Terry Labonte 1984 - (one knife), Bill Elliot 1988 - (one knife), Rusty Wallace 1989 - (one knife), 20th anniversary Winston Cup Knife - (one knife). This is set number 205 out of 1500. I am retired now and need to downsize so I am offering at a great price. Rare opportunity to own a piece of RJR sponsored Winston-Cup Racing. NOTE: There are three knives for Dale Earnhardt. Dimensions:

\"In late 1991, a contract was signed that would dwarf any knife contract in racing today. The 1500 made, Mint set had a total retail value of $7,500. The \"20th Anniversary Mint Set\", a coalition of 21 knives, was placed in a solid Cherry cabinet with a pull out drawer. Some of the knife patterns were a \"first time\" for Case knife. To my knowledge that was the only time a double blade Coke Bottle knife has ever been used. This beautiful set was to sell for $5,000 retail. To collect the series, you had to buy two knives per month. The series sold near or about 800 sets out of the 1500 contracted. In 1995, some of the knives that were already etched, but not placed in the cherry wood cabinet, as sets, were sold as single knives. Give the completed series some time, and it will go up even higher than the appraised value. If you have the full set, keep it. It is a good investment\".

NOTE: This set has never been displayed. All but two knives are sill in original wrapping. Red liner in cabinet is mint as it should be.
