A. All our watches are obtained viaauthorised channels, both distributors and resellers. Whilst we are notauthorised dealers ourselves, we have managed to develop some relationshipswith authorised dealers that essentially enables us to piggy-back on theirpurchasing agreements with the brands. Of course restrictions do often apply,e.g. no provision of the manufacturer’s warranty.
We also have the ability to buy via certain distribution channels by importingfrom various parts of the globe depending on the brand.
A. All watches sold by Chic Orologio Boutique areguaranteed to be authentic. We do not sell replicas and all watches have their respectiveserial numbers intact, usually (but not always) located on the case back (brandand model dependent). However, as we are not authorised dealers your watchcannot be registered and access to the manufacturer’s warranty cannot beactivated.
A. Unless stated otherwise, each and every watch purchased from Chic Orologio Boutique issupplied in the respective brand’s official presentation box with themanufacturer’s paperwork enclosed (user manual, warranty card, warranty booklet,etc.) We also enclose our own paperwork which includes an invoice and full detailsof the private limited warranty service.
A. In some cases yes, other cases no. It’s important thatyou read the listing and view the detailed photos we have carefully taken toknow what is supplied with each purchase. Please remember you are notpurchasing from an authorised dealer that provides barcoded price tags, retailreceipts and gift bags (although we do provide our own invoice and the brandedgift bag if available) and any additional paraphernalia like glossy catalogues.Additionally, Special / Limited Edition items may only be provided in thestandard official presentation box as we are often restricted on access to allthe accessories as a consequence of not being an authorised dealer. This isanother way the authorised dealers can retain those customers that want toensure they get the full official retail package associated with the watch theyare purchasing and limit the smaller resellers pricing them out of the market.
A. There are a few main reasons:
Firstly, as we are not authorised dealers we are not bound by the pricingguidelines that authorised dealers must fall within as dictated by the brands.Furthermore, as the manufacturer’s warranty constitutes quite a significantpercentage of the acquisition cost, and because we cannot offer themanufacturer’s warranty, it enables us to pass those savings onto ourcustomers. Secondly, we have much lower overheads than the authorised dealers. We do notrequire large profit margins in order to stay afloat. Thirdly, whilst we do have ‘Buy It Now’ listings, we tend to prefer saleingmost items to let the current market decide the final selling price. Of courseit can sometimes be a risky strategy if the price doesn’t reach break-even as abare minimum after all associated costs have been deducted, however in almostall cases we do indeed make a profit. Whilst our margins are low, for us theguarantee that an item will sell on a given date and time (by saleing) ismore important than trying to maximise profits. Ultimately that usually resultsin a great deal for our customers.
A. Discontinued does not necessarily mean unavailable, infact far from it most of the time. Yes, as times goes by it becomes moredifficult to source discontinued watches but with a decent network the job’smade easier.
A. We always welcome enquiries about whether we are ableto source a particular make and model of watch we do not have listed. Pleasebear in mind that we have limited access to the range of brands we can sell andlimited access to the model ranges within those brands. Furthermore, all themodels of the various brands we sell that are purchased in advance for sale viasale are always carefully selected as the ones that are tried and tested asmost likely to generate a profit, another reason why we do not have a widerrange of models available at any given time.
